At Rhythm, we believe in living generously. It takes faith to live in this realm, for some, it is a real LEAP of faith to form a new habit of giving generously.

The Bible has a lot to say about finances. Each year, as a church we do a 40 day devotion through YouVersion called Generous Living. This has blessed so many.

1. Give Cheerfully.

“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”” (2Co 9:7)

2. Giving Generously.

“When the people of Israel heard these requirements, they responded generously by bringing the first share of their grain, new wine, olive oil, honey, and all the produce of their fields. They brought a large quantity—a tithe of all they produced.” (2Ch 31:5)

3. Giving Systematically.

“Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.” (Pro 3:9-10)

4. Giving Reverently.

“They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (Mat 2:11)

5. Giving Proportionately.

“On the first day of each week, you should each put aside a portion of the money you have earned. Don’t wait until I get there and then try to collect it all at once.” (1Co 16:2)

6. Give Willingly.

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. (2 Cor 8:12)

7. Give Regularly.

“We obligate ourselves to bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the LORD; (Neh 10:35)8. Give Faithfully.

“And you shall not neglect the Levite who is within your towns, for he has no portion or inheritance with you. “At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns. (Deu 14:27)

9. Give Expectantly.

“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” (Mal 3:10)

10. Give Eternally.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Mat 6:19-20)

11. Give Extravagantly.

“And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”” (Mar 12:41-44)

12. Give Thoughtfully.

“In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Pro 3:6)
